You should just inform everyone not to upgrade their clients, and continue running on the previous patch until the mods upgrade. That's what a lot of other major servers do and it would prevent the loss of newer players due to the downtime.

Well, the main problem is that john, who is currently hosting the server, went on a 1 month trip (idk what exactly) 3 days before the update, so no one is really able to update the server.
